Toyota’s Green Mobility vision drives sustainability with a human touch

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is not just building cars—it’s shaping a greener future. At the India Energy Week (IEW) 2025, held in New Delhi from February 11 to 14, Toyota reinforced its commitment to clean energy, showcasing innovations designed to reduce carbon footprints and make eco-friendly mobility more accessible to everyday consumers. From the Innova Hycross Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicle (SHEV) to the Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) powered by hydrogen, Toyota’s lineup reflects a diverse approach to sustainable transportation. The company also unveiled its Prius Flex-Fuel Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (FFV-PHEV), running on up to 100% ethanol, and an Urban Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Concept aimed at city commuters. Furthermore, Toyota’s locally manufactured e-Drive system strengthens India’s role in global green technology under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Beyond technological advancements, Toyota’s focus on localized clean energy solutions has tangible economic benefits. Ethanol-based vehicles support India’s agricultural sector by creating demand for biofuels, while domestic production of electric vehicle components fosters job creation and enhances supply chain resilience. The company’s sustainable logistics transformation, including shifting 65% of transport routes from Bidadi to the North via rail, has further minimized emissions. Mr. VikramGulati, Country Head & EVP – Corporate Affairs and Governance, TKM, noted, “Our commitment goes beyond vehicles—we are building an ecosystem for sustainable mobility. By integrating clean energy solutions into the fabric of India’s transportation sector, we hope to inspire change at both industry and consumer levels.”

With its human-centered approach to sustainability, Toyota is not just addressing environmental challenges but also empowering local economies, proving that the future of mobility is both green and inclusive.
