On this year’s Earth Day, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reaffirmed its strong commitment to environmental sustainability, aligning with the global theme “Our Power, Our Planet.” The company, led by Executive Vice President & Director – Manufacturing Mr. B. Padmanabha, outlined its ongoing efforts toward carbon neutrality, driven by Toyota’s Environmental Challenge 2050. This includes a focus on electrified vehicle technologies (xEVs) and renewable energy adoption across manufacturing operations.
TKM has made significant strides in sustainability, operating on 100% renewable grid electricity, recycling over 96% of waste, and meeting 89.3% of water needs through rainwater harvesting and recycled water. Additionally, the company’s Green Wave Project has seen over 328,000 trees planted, enriching biodiversity across its facilities. TKM’s Ecozone, a 25-acre learning space, has educated over 40,000 students on environmental stewardship.
Toyota’s efforts have resonated with environmentally conscious consumers. With growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles, TKM’s initiatives, especially in green mobility, are positioning the company as a market leader, reinforcing its commitment to a sustainable and cleaner future for the region.
