Toyota Kirloskar Motor celebrated Silver Jubilee “by creating a new “Wetland Ecosystem”

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) celebrated its Silver Jubilee “Environment Month” in Bangalore by creating a new “Wetland Ecosystem” at the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) Pond. The initiative aims to enhance native biodiversity and restore an existing natural pond.Toyota’s 25th Environment Month celebration celebrated wetland ecosystems, which play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and mitigating climate change through carbon sequestration.

Wetlands store carbon within their communities and soil, allowing them to moderate global climate conditions. They also protect water quality, provide fish and wildlife habitats, store floodwaters, and maintain surface water flow during dry periods. Toyota’s Global Environmental Challenge 2050 focuses on ‘Living in Harmony with Nature’, which includes afforestation, with over 2,550 saplings planted to promote environmental sustainability.

 Mr. B. Padmanabha, Associate Executive Vice President – Manufacturing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said “With the creation of the ‘Wetland Ecosystem’ at the Toyota Technical Training Institute, we have taken another significant step towards preserving and revitalizing our natural environment.TKM launched an ecozone experiential learning center for children, teachers, and community members, featuring 17 theme parks and 65,000 trees, aiming to create environmental leaders and change champions.
