Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts qualifies for incentive in govt’s PLI scheme, accelerates India’s EV manufacturing drive

Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts Pvt Ltd (TKAP) has achieved a pivotal milestone, securing the Domestic Value Addition (DVA) Certificate for xEV Transaxle (e-Drive) under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) products. This success positions TKAP to avail incentives under the scheme, marking a significant boost for India’s electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing sector.

The certification, granted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), underscores TKAP’s commitment to producing high-quality, locally sourced components. Established in 2002, TKAP has rapidly expanded its portfolio to become a leading manufacturer of drive train parts and assemblies within the Toyota group. Aligned with the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiative and Toyota Group’s vision for mass electrification, TKAP’s advanced manufacturing facility, inaugurated in 2022, focuses on producing xEV Transaxle (e-Drive). This strategic move supports domestic supply to Toyota Kirloskar Motor while enhancing India’s position as Toyota Asia’s Electrification Hub.

K N Prasad, Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts, expressed gratitude for government support, emphasizing TKAP’s contribution to establishing India as a hub for advanced, clean, and efficient vehicle manufacturing. With investments exceeding INR 16,000 crores, the Toyota Group remains a key player in India’s “Make-in-India” mission, driving the country towards a sustainable automotive future.
