Bengali cinema star Prosenjit Chatterjee will be making his debut with Viktamaditya Motwane’s web series titled “Stardust”. The show will also feature Aparshakti Khurrana, Aditi Rao Hydari. “The show is inspired by true incidents from rivalry to the working culture of the film industry. But it will be a fictional take on Bollywood from the 40s era to the next 40 years. Currently it is being planned as eight to nine episodes for season one,” a source close to the show’s team said.
The series was initially planned to launch in March-April last year but due to COVID-19 pandemic the shoot got delayed. The team is now planning to start the production this year in March-April as per sources.
Beside Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta will also soon be seen in a romantic drama titled Salt. The film, being readied for an OTT release, is directed by Sunny Ray. The film revolves around Shankar, an introverted architect who falls for the girlfriend of his boss, Maya, an extroverted writer who is impressed by Sankar because of a strange lie on their first date. The entire film is set in Kolkata and Darjeeling.
Rituparna said she was very excited to play the character of Maya. “I am really looking forward to ‘Salt’. Sunny has come up with a wonderful idea and quite contemporary to suit today’s psyche of a woman. Salt describes the couple as edgy and exceptional. Sudip da our producer is also very positive and supportive… My first OTT exposure. really excited,” she said.
