This year’s SOF Olympiad attracted millions of participants from 72 countries, with over 29,703 students from Hooghly alone competing. Prominent institutions such as K.D. Memorial School and Sarada Vidyapith played key roles in the district’s strong showing. The competition’s broad reach included 96,499 schools across 4,000 cities, reflecting SOF’s extensive impact over its 27-year history.
From a local economic perspective, the success of Hooghly students adds to the region’s growing reputation for academic excellence, which indirectly benefits the Hooghly market by encouraging educational investments, tutoring services, and academic material sales. This rising educational profile fuels market demand, supporting local businesses linked to education. SOF’s efforts extend beyond exams, with scholarship schemes supporting underprivileged girls and defense family students, alongside training programs aimed at nurturing talent on a global stage.
