Bengaluru had gone from a big traffic jam on this Wednesday after people are going for a long five day holiday. There was also a bandh called by farmer bodies against the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu. According to the police traffic flow suddenly increased between 5 pm and 8 pm as many office-goers started returning home. The five day holiday was for Eid Milad-Un Nabi, which is a gazetted holiday, will be celebrated today then tomorrow on September 29, the Bengalluru city will be shut as protesters called for Karnataka bandh over Cauvery water dispute followed by Saturday and Sunday and at last for October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, is also a national holiday. This holiday is very important for people of Bengaluru as they need a break after working so hard for many days. The traffic actually can be a big trouble for Bengaluru city people as they can be here for wasting long time in the jam.
The Joint Commissioner Traffic Police Bengaluru said in a statement that there was unprecedented traffic on Wednesday evening on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the surrounding areas. According to the traffic police department, multiple factors caused the traffic congestion in parts of the city. The traffic on Wednesday was twice more than on a normal day. Usually, the vehicle count on Wednesdays is 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh. However, on September 27, the vehicular count reached a whopping 3.5 lakh as of 7:30 pm.Apart from this the rain had fallen on that day which make water logging causing another reason for the jam on many parts of the city. If you compare this jam from other jam you can see that the authority had managed very well to solve the problem and no people got in trouble. They also noted different aspects from this traffic jam so that they don’t get any trouble in future. This type of jam some time can turn into big problem as now specially in big cities people have more vehicles which creates big jam in the road .So to stop this people need to travel more on public transport and use there vehicle efficiently.
