The Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missile underwent two consecutively successful flight tests at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha

In order to simulate approaching and departing aircraft, the flight tests were conducted from a ground-based man-portable launcher against swift unmanned aerial targets.

All mission goals were achieved by effectively intercepting the targets.

The VSHORADS Man Portable Air Defence System (MANPAD) is designed to eliminate close-range, low-altitude aerial threats.
