The third CWG meeting concluded in Hampi, Karnataka on July 12

The third Culture Working Group meeting, concluded in Hampi, Karnataka on July 12, 2023, with a yoga session at the Pattabiram Temple. With participation from member countries, guest countries, and seven international organizations.  The meeting aimed to reach a consensus on issues related to the Culture Ministerial Declaration, and best practices around the four priorities identified by the CWG.

 It also aimed to develop a joint statement for the Culture Ministerial meeting in Varanasi. A strong declaration with concrete outcomes is expected from the three meetings. A report on the global thematic webinar will be launched during the meeting. During the meeting, An exhibition on Lambani embroidery, titled ‘Culture unites all,’ was organized, which was inaugurated by Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, setting a Guinness World Record for the largest display of long objects.

Over 450 women artisans from the Lambani community participated, with around 1300 Lambani embroidery patchworks displayed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the effort. G20 delegates attended a culture program featuring Bamboo Symphony Band, and even visited heritage sites like Vitthal Temple, Royal Enclosure, and Yeduru Basavanna Complex.
