The opening of a four-bed dialysis unit at Tinsukia Medical College & Hospital

In front of Chinmoy Pathak, ADC Health Tinsukia, Dr. Rupak Gogoi, Principal of TMCH, Dr. Mukul Sharma, Superintendent of TMCH, Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Jt Director of Health Services, Tinsukia, and representatives from OIL Duliajan, among others, Sanjoy Kishan, Tinsukia MLA, formally opened a four-bed dialysis unit at Tinsukia Medical College & Hospital (TMCH). The ceremony was held at Tinsukia Medical College & Hospital’s OPD. Twelve patients will be housed in three shifts per day at this new institution.

The facility is a part of the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP), which is run by Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. through NHM Assam in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with support from OIL India Limited, Duliajan. Speaking to the group, TMCH Principal Dr. Rupak Gogoi stated that in the past, patients had to travel great distances to receive dialysis services, which frequently resulted in expensive transportation expenses. Additionally, with assistance from NHM Tinsukia, Kishan launched two breastfeeding areas at the TMCH Pediatrics Department’s OPD and IPD.
