BJP won 20 assembly seats in the Goa elections and it secured the support of two MLAs of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and also three independents.
Central observers of BJP such as union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and L Murugan will arrive in Panaji to participate in the crucial legislature party meeting.
After the legislature party meeting BJP announced the name of Goa’s next Chief Minister. For the CM post BJP leader and caretaker chief minister Pramod Sawant is the clear front-runner. But some other names also surfaced as BJP delayed in announcing the name.
The names of Himachal Pradesh governor Rajendra Arlekar and BJP MLA and former state health minister Vishwajit Rane are also being discussed. Pramod Sawant and Vishwajit Rane met union home minister Amit Shah.
The ceremony of the new government could take place between 23rd March and 25th march. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and senior party leaders will attend this ceremony of the next chief minister. It was said by the Goa BJP chief Sadanand Shet Tanavade.
