The trailer for The Kerala Story changes from the earlier depiction of 32,000 women from the state joining the Islamic State.
The trailer on YouTube now tells the story of three young women from different parts of Kerala.Earlier, Congress MP from Kerala Shashi Tharoor had criticized the filmmakers for gross exaggeration and distortion of reality in Kerala.
The film has been embroiled in a controversy over the number quoted by the producer. Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan and other opposition leaders have called for the film to be banned for promoting communal discrimination. A petition was filed in court to ban the film.
The Indian Union Muslim League has offered a reward of Rs 1 crore to prove that 32,000 Kerala women have joined the Islamic State.
The initial trailer claims that the film depicts the heartbreaking and gut-wrenching story of 32,000 women in Kerala.
The film has been produced by Sunshine Productions and now according to the trailer, it tells the story of three young women from Kerala.
