The Cachar police recovered a huge quantity of Yaba tablets

A large number of Yaba tablets were found in the possession of a drug dealer from Jirighat, Manipur, who was detained by the Cachar police. In addition, 27 grams of heroin were found when the district police raided a Jirighat home that was allegedly used as a narcotics storage facility. According to Cachar SP Numol Mahatta, a team of Cachar police officers conducted an operation against the illicit transit of narcotics substances at Haokip Punji in Jirighat on Saturday night, based on reliable intelligence. One individual, Chungkam Lenthang (44), of Muktakkhal Village in the Tamenglon district of Manipur, was taken into custody by police.

He was found to have a shipment of 24,000 Yaba tablets hidden in a plastic bag. According to Mahatta, the black market price of the drug is roughly $7.20. The SP further disclosed that they had obtained specific information from a trustworthy source about NDPS storing in a home owned by Lienkhosat Kuki in Jirighat’s Kharjong bosti. As a result, 27 grams of suspected heroin were found during a search of the premises. Lienkhosat Kuki was taken into custody. On the underground market, the drug’s price is approximately Rs. 13.5 lakh.
