Under India’s G20 Presidency, the 3rd Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) is being convened from July 10 -12 in Kevadia, Gujarat. The three-day meeting focused on action-oriented proposals and deliverables on global trade and investment issues. During the meeting, G20 members and invitees provided suggestions for India’s proposals during technical sessions, which will be adopted during Trade and Investment Ministerial meeting in Jaipur.
The meeting focused on five priority areas: trade for growth, ease of doing business, global value chains, integrating MSMEs, and logistics for trade and WTO reforms. India’s G20 Presidency prepared action-oriented concrete proposals on each issue, aiming to build consensus among member states to adopt these proposals.
Earlier a seminar on ‘Trade Infrastructure’ discussed logistics’ role in GVC expansion and MSMEs’ significance. An exhibition showcased Central Government initiatives, while G20 delegates visited the Statue of Unity and Sardar Sarovar dam. A cultural program also showcased Gujarat’s rich culture and heritage.
