TCPL Green Energy Solutions announces hydrogen engine facility, pledges cleaner future for India

TCPL Green Energy Solutions Private Limited (TCPL GES) inaugurated a cutting-edge manufacturing facility today, aimed at producing hydrogen-based Internal Combustion Engines for Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles in India. This milestone underscores TCPL GES’s commitment to powering a cleaner and more sustainable India.

Situated across nearly seven acres in Jamshedpur, the facility showcases state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, a testament to Tata Motors Limited and Cummins Inc. USA’s dedication to innovation, manufacturing excellence, and environmental sustainability. The inauguration comes swiftly after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State of Jharkhand, highlighting the rapid progress towards decarbonization goals.Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “The opening of this new-age manufacturing facility marks a significant chapter in Tata Motors’ legacy of innovation and nation-building. The hydrogen-based powertrain solutions produced here will drive smarter and greener mobility in India.”

Ashwath Ram, Managing Director of Cummins Group in India, emphasized Cummins’ commitment to delivering advanced low to zero-emissions technology products, stating, “Our dedication to decarbonization is backed by concrete action, driven by global expertise and technological capabilities.”The joint venture between Tata Motors and Cummins, TCPL GES, formed in March 2023, focuses on developing sustainable propulsion technology solutions for commercial vehicles in India. These initiatives align with PLANET 2050, Cummins’ long-range business strategy aimed at addressing climate change and enhancing community welfare.
