Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), the pioneer of the EV evolution in India, has introduced its first Pure EV architecture, acti.ev. This architecture, which stands for Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle, will underpin future products from the TPEM portfolio. The first product to be launched on this Pure Electric Architecture is Punch.ev, which will spawn a variety of products with multiple body styles and sizes. Customers can book their Punch.ev at Tata Motors showrooms or Tata.ev stores for just ₹21,000.
Chief Products Officer, Anand Kulkarni, said that the architecture is designed to enable class-leading efficiencies, maximize space, battery capacity, and enhance the overall driving experience. The architecture is global-ready and future-facing, enabling the implementation of software-oriented features, ensuring that Tata vehicles are not only technologically advanced but also future-proof.
The acti.ev architecture focuses on Performance, Technology, Modularity, and Space Efficiency. It comprises four layers: Powertrain, Chassis, Electrical Architecture, and Cloud Architecture. The powertrain features an optimized battery pack design, allowing for modularity and multiple range options. The chassis maximizes cabin space, the electrical architecture supports ADAS level 2 capabilities, and the cloud architecture offers enhanced user experience.
