Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Shell join forces to revolutionize EV charging landscape in India

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEM) and Shell India Markets Private Limited (SIMPL) have forged a groundbreaking alliance to elevate India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. In a move aimed at propelling the nation’s transition to electric mobility, the two industry giants have inked a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to deploy public charging stations throughout India.

This strategic collaboration capitalizes on Shell’s extensive fuel station network and TPEM’s wealth of insights garnered from over 1.4 lakh Tata EVs traversing Indian roads. The partnership intends to strategically position chargers at high-traffic areas frequented by Tata EV owners, thereby ensuring widespread accessibility and convenience.

Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing its pivotal role in expanding the country’s charging infrastructure. He underscored the significance of fostering an open collaboration to accelerate India’s EV ecosystem and boost mainstream adoption.Sanjay Varkey, Director of Shell India Markets Private Limited, echoed Rajan’s sentiments, highlighting Shell’s commitment to enhancing the EV charging experience through sustainability and innovation. Varkey emphasized the integration of 100% certified renewable sources with ultra-fast and reliable chargers to deliver a seamless and eco-friendly charging experience.
