Tata Motors to hike commercial vehicle prices by up to 1% from October

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, on Thursday announced a price increase of up to 1% across its commercial vehicle range, effective October 1, 2026, citing higher commodity prices and other input costs.

The company said the extent of the increase will vary depending on the model and variant. The move comes as manufacturers across the automotive sector continue to manage cost pressures arising from fluctuations in key commodities and other production inputs.

Part of the USD 180-billion Tata Group, Tata Motors has more than eight decades of experience in commercial mobility and manufactures utility vehicles, pick-ups, trucks and buses. Its products and solutions cater to applications ranging from last-mile delivery to public transport, supported by advanced powertrains, connected technologies and intelligent fleet solutions.

The company operates in India and South Korea and has a presence across Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Southeast Asia and SAARC countries. Tata Motors said its commercial vehicle business remains focused on innovation, reliability, performance and sustainable growth under its “Better Always” brand promise.

Under a Composite Scheme of Arrangement sanctioned by the National Company Law Tribunal, Mumbai Bench, the company was renamed Tata Motors Limited from TML Commercial Vehicles Limited with effect from October 29, 2025. Its equity shares are listed on the BSE and NSE.
