In Q4FY 2023–2024, Tata Motors Limited sold 2, 65,090 cars both domestically and internationally, up from 2,51,822 units in Q4FY 2022–2023. In March 2024, MH&ICV’s domestic sales were 19,976 units, down from 22,437 units in the same month the previous year. In Q4 FY24, sales were 50,643 units, down from 54,435 units in Q4 FY23. In March 2024, MH&ICV’s domestic and international sales were 20,551 units, down from 23,074 units in the same month the previous year. In Q4 FY24, sales were 52,186 units, down from 56,059 units in Q4 FY23.
In Q4FY24, domestic sales at 1,04,922 units were marginally lower than Q4FY23 sales of 1,12,145 units, which had benefitted from increased pre-buy due to BS6 Phase II transition. The M&HCV segment experienced a slight contraction of 6% compared to Q4FY23, driven by government infrastructure initiatives, core industry expansion, and e-commerce growth. Passenger Commercial Vehicles experienced a 38% increase post-pandemic, while small and light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 10% due to financing constraints. Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “Customers’ rising preference for safe and green vehicles should result in doubledigit growth for sale of cars with emission-friendly powertrains supported by new launches and a stronger value proposition – emission-friendly, lower total cost of ownership and equipped with smarter features.”
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPVs) recorded its third consecutive year of highest sales in FY24, with wholesale sales of 5,73,495 units up 6% compared to FY23. Retail sales grew around 10%. The company’s unique multi-powertrain strategy contributed nearly 29% of overall sales, with vehicles powered by CNG and EV contributing nearly 29%. Tata.ev products saw a strong 48% growth in sales, with preference for EVs growing across both personal and fleet segments.
