Tata Motors Ltd. reported a 42% year-on-year increase in standalone revenue to ₹23,930 crore in the second quarter of FY27, driven by strong demand and improved operating performance. Consolidated revenue rose 36% to ₹25,338 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
Standalone EBITDA increased 31% to ₹2,800 crore, while the EBITDA margin stood at 11.7%, down 90 basis points year-on-year but stable sequentially despite rising commodity costs. Standalone profit before tax, excluding exceptional items, rose 51% to ₹2,660 crore, while profit after tax reached ₹2,100 crore. Free cash flow improved to ₹4,606 crore, taking the standalone net cash position to ₹11,300 crore.
The company’s consolidated profit after tax rose 244% to ₹1,300 crore, supported by lower mark-to-market losses on investments in Tata Capital Ltd. Total wholesale volumes increased 42% to 135,100 units, with domestic and export volumes growing 30% and 177%, respectively.
In Kolkata, the performance holds significance for the commercial vehicle market, where infrastructure development, freight movement and fleet replacement demand remain important growth drivers. Tata Motors’ expanding product portfolio and financing initiatives for electric commercial vehicles could support future demand, although commodity costs and broader economic conditions remain key monitorables.
Managing Director and CEO Girish Wagh said the company remained focused on profitable growth, cost management and customer value. Meanwhile, the Iveco tender offer, following regulatory approvals, will remain open until October 26, with settlement scheduled for October 30, subject to successful completion.
