Tata Motors, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, inaugurated its eighth Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in Kolkata today, marking a major step towards sustainable mobility. The state-of-the-art facility, named Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect, can dismantle up to 21,000 end-of-life vehicles annually and will be operated by Selladale Synergies India Pvt. Ltd. The facility was inaugurated in the presence of West Bengal Transport Minister Snehasis Chakraborty, Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim (virtually), and senior Tata Motors officials. The fully digitalised plant is equipped to safely scrap vehicles across all brands, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger, and commercial vehicles. Inaugurating the facility, Snehasis Chakraborty, Minister of Transport, Government of West Bengal, said,“The inauguration of Tata Motors’ Re.Wi.Re is a welcome step towards building a cleaner and more efficient future for our people. This initiative will also support the adoption of newer, safer energy-efficient vehicles and create circular economy opportunities within the transport sector. We appreciate Tata Motors, Selladale Synergies and all partners involved for bringing this initiative to our state.”

This marks Tata Motors’ third scrapping facility in eastern India, reinforcing regional accessibility and green growth.
