Tata Motors, India’s top automobile manufacturer, has inaugurated its fifth Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility near Delhi, ‘Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect,’ marking a significant step towards sustainable mobility, according to its Executive Director, Girish Wagh. The RVSF, developed in partnership with Johar Motors, is an environmentally friendly facility capable of safely disassembling 18,000 end-of-life vehicles annually, responsibly scrapping passenger and commercial vehicles of all brands. This significant milestone follows the resounding success of Tata Motors’ four preceding RVSFs in Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Surat and Chandigarh, reiterating the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable initiatives.
Re.Wi.Re. is a digital facility designed for environmentally friendly dismantling of end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles. It offers cell-type and line-type dismantling for commercial and passenger vehicles, and paperless operations. The facility has dedicated stations for safe dismantling of components like tires, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases.
The meticulous documentation ensures safe disposal of components and adheres to vehicle scrappage policies, promoting sustainable practices in the automotive industry. Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors, said “It also contributes to the Government’s efforts to promote sustainable automotive practices. This state-of-the-art facility will set new benchmarks in disposing vehicles responsibly and pave the way towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.”
