Tata Motors boosts rural EV sales by 13% in West Bengal

Tata Motors, India’s leading automobile manufacturer and the pioneer of India’s EV evolution, continues to exhibit significant growth across the state of West Bengal with a market share of 90% in FY23. The portfolio experienced a 13% growth in rural areas in April 2023, driven by increased EV awareness, expanding charging infrastructure, strategically placed stations, a strong network of 55 sales outlets, 11 authorized service setups, and positive customer word of mouth.

Tata Motors’ Tiago.ev, the latest EV entry, has democratized electric vehicles and expanded to new cities in India. It became the fastest booked EV, reaching 20,000 bookings in just two days and delivering 10,000 units in less than four months. The company also saw a 2x increase in women buyers, making up 24% of Tiago.ev sales, and 25% of first-time car buyers.

Tiago.ev contributes to over 35% of Tiago brand sales. Tata Motors has upgraded the Nexon EV MAX XZ+ LUX with a 26.03 cm touchscreen infotainment system, high-resolution display, Android Auto, and Apple Carplay. The top-of-the-line variant offers enhanced audio performance, voice assistant in six languages, and a new UI.
