Tata AIG launches MediCare Reserve with health cover up to ₹5 crore

Tata AIG General Insurance Company has launched MediCare Reserve, a new health insurance solution aimed at helping customers enhance their health coverage as medical needs evolve. Built on a Super Top-up structure, the plan offers coverage ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹5 crore, with aggregate deductible options between ₹3 lakh and ₹50 lakh. A key feature of the product is the ‘Waiver of Aggregate Deductible’, which allows eligible policyholders to transition to a comprehensive health insurance policy after five consecutive policy years without fresh underwriting. The company said the plan is designed to provide long-term and flexible health protection while addressing rising healthcare costs.MediCare Reserve also includes optional benefits such as ‘TransiCare Wallet’, which offers financial protection during job transitions, ‘Pocket Protect’ for prolonged hospitalisation expenses, and a Consumables Benefit covering specified non-medical costs incurred during treatment.
The plan is targeted at working professionals aged 18-55 years who rely on employer-sponsored Group Medical Coverage (GMC), as well as Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) visiting the country. PankajShrivastava, Head – Agency & Health at Tata AIG, said the product combines affordability with long-term protection and aims to make health insurance more flexible and future-ready.In Guwahati, insurance experts believe products such as MediCare Reserve could witness growing demand as awareness about health coverage rises among salaried employees, IT professionals and small business owners in Assam. Increasing medical costs and concerns over inadequate employer-provided coverage are prompting more consumers in Guwahati to explore supplementary health insurance solutions with higher coverage limits.
