TAFE honours grassroots agri-innovators in Massey DYNASTAR Contest Season 2

Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), maker of the iconic Massey Ferguson tractors, concluded the second edition of its Massey DYNASTAR Contest – Season 2, recognising scalable, socially impactful agricultural innovations. The contest drew over 16,000 entries from 26 states and 5 Union Territories, with 12 finalists representing Assam, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh.

The grand prize — a Massey Ferguson 254 DYNASMART 2WD tractor worth ₹8.2 lakh — went to Belgaum’s Avinash Desai for his mobile slurry dewatering machine concept. Prateek Agarwal from Hojai, Assam, secured second place with a solar-powered energy hub, while Punjab’s Amrit Jot Singh took third for his water purifying unit. The Jury’s Choice Award went to retired IAS officer Dr. Jayakumar Karuppusamy from Assam.

In the institutional category, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Bannari Amman Institute of Technology won for tractor-mounted transplanter designs. The initiative is expected to boost demand for advanced agricultural equipment in eastern India, where modern mechanisation is gaining traction among small and medium farmers. Local agri-dealers predict higher adoption rates for multipurpose tractors, aligning with TAFE’s rural innovation vision. Season 3 will launch next year, promising greater reach and impact.
