Food delivery platform Swiggy has partnered with seven of Kolkata’s leading Durga Puja pandals to launch a unique ‘Bhog Experience Box’, offering devotees an opportunity to enjoy the rituals and flavours of the festival at home. Priced at a token amount of ₹21, a total of 6,000 curated boxes are available for pre-order on the Swiggy app starting September 28, with deliveries beginning from September 29. Each Bhog Experience Box includes flowers used in puja rituals, sindoor, a clay idol of MaaDurga, and traditional dishes from the pandals such as AlooBhaja, Labra Curry, Kichuri, Luchi, Polao and Payes. Some of the participating committees include AhiritolaSarbojoninDurgotsab, Santoshpur Lake Pally and BokulBaganSarbojoninDurgotsav.
In Kolkata, the Bhog Experience Box is expected to add a new dimension to festive consumption. Traditionally dominated by sweet shops, caterers and local stalls, the market is witnessing a shift as digital platforms like Swiggy bring puja flavours directly to households. This blend of culture and convenience could also drive increased engagement for both pandal committees and small vendors associated with them.
Swiggy, known for its innovative cultural campaigns, previously introduced the “BhogElo Boney” floating pandal in the Sundarbans in 2024 and partnered with pandals in Mumbai and Pune for Ganesh Chaturthi earlier this year.
