Three students from Kolkata have secured top ranks in the SOF Olympiad exam for 2024-25. Swapnil Bagui, a seventh-grade student from Pramila Memorial Advanced School, claimed the first rank in the International Mathematics Olympiad, receiving a gold medal and a merit certificate. Anveisha Mohanty, an eleventh-grade student from Calcutta International School, also claimed the first rank in the International English Olympiad, earning a gold medal and a merit certificate.
Kabyashree Saha, a seventh-grade student from Gokhale Memorial Girls’ School (Secondary Section), claimed the second rank in the National Science Olympiad, receiving a silver medal and merit certificate. This year’s SOF Olympiad saw participation from approximately millions of students across 70 countries, including over 128400 students from Kolkata. Notable schools from Kolkata, Hariyana Vidya Mandir, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Calcutta Airport English High School, and Trinity Public School were among the participants.
SOF organized a felicitation ceremony at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Delhi, to recognize the international olympiad winners and teachers of academic year 2024-25. A total of 750 students and teachers attended the ceremony. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice Shri J.K. Maheshwari, Judge Supreme Court of India. Addressing the students, teachers, and parents at the ceremony, Hon’ble Supreme Court Judge J.K. Maheshwari said that it is our primary responsibility to empower today’s generation with knowledge as well as values. He further said that those who carry the light of education within themselves can never remain in darkness for long. Mahabir Singh, the founder director of SOF, proudly shared that the Science Olympiad Foundation has successfully completed 27 years of conducting Olympiad exams. The event was also graced by prominent dignitaries, including Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla of the Madhya Pradesh High Court and Dr. Satish Arya, Dean, CBLU, Bhiwani Haryana.
