Strong support fuels Aditya Golay’s campaign in Soreng-Chakung

Aditya Golay, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate for the Soreng-Chakung constituency, is poised for a significant electoral victory as he faces no substantial opposition in the upcoming elections. Addressing reporters, Golay countered allegations of foul play, expressing gratitude for his nomination and acknowledging the strong support from local party workers.“I thank the supporters of Soreng-Chakung who advocated for my candidacy. It is an honor to represent them,” Golay stated. He addressed rival candidate Prem Bahadur Bhandari’s recent comments, labeling them personal opinions while remaining hopeful for future collaboration for the constituency’s development.

Regarding allegations of election misconduct, Golay urged critics to consult the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) for clarification, emphasizing that such claims have been dismissed on technical grounds. “I have no comment on those allegations,” he noted. Golay reiterated SKM’s ambition to secure all 32 seats in Sikkim, a goal they narrowly missed in previous elections. “Recent developments give me hope that we can achieve our target. We have much work to do to ensure public benefits are delivered effectively,” he added.

Focusing on youth engagement, Golay expressed the importance of adapting policies to meet the evolving needs of younger voters. “I plan to involve them actively in our initiatives and ensure their voices are heard,” he said. As the elections approach, Golay aims to surpass the 10,480 votes garnered in the last general elections. “While we may not have broken that record yet, I am confident that with the support of our party, we will exceed expectations,” he said.
