The launch of the upgraded Stayfree® Secure XL underscores the increasing emphasis on innovation, consumer-centric product development and wider access in India’s menstrual hygiene sector, aligning with broader efforts to improve women’s health and hygiene outcomes. Stayfree®, one of India’s leading menstrual hygiene brands, has introduced the upgraded product featuring a pioneering ‘Pad Change Alert’ backed by its patented Double Leak Lock Technology, offering Double Protection for up to 12 hours.
The upgraded Stayfree® Secure XL uses two protective barriers, with the outer barrier gradually turning red to signal when it is time to change the pad, helping users manage periods with greater confidence and comfort. According to STAYFREE, consumer testing conducted by MMR in India in 2026 found that 100 per cent of women liked the upgraded product, reflecting strong consumer acceptance of technology-led menstrual hygiene solutions.
Supriya Srinivasa, Marketing Director, Stayfree® India, said women often face the mental burden of worrying about leakage, access to toilets and timely pad replacement during periods. She said the upgraded product has been developed to address these concerns through research-driven innovation. Dr. Dilip Tripathi, Head of Baby & Women’s Health Research &Development at Kenvue, said the product integrates extensive consumer feedback with advanced technology to enhance both protection and comfort.
Supporting the launch, STAYFREE has rolled out the nationwide “Zero Tension. Double Protection” campaign featuring brand ambassador Kiara Advani. Directed by filmmaker Shoojit Sircar and produced by Omnicom (Magnon India), the campaign includes television advertising, influencer collaborations, digital outreach, sampling initiatives, wall paintings and on-ground activations.
Innovations such as Stayfree® Secure XL complement India’s broader public health and menstrual hygiene objectives by encouraging adoption of improved hygiene products, promoting consumer awareness and supporting the organised feminine hygiene market. The product’s availability through supermarkets, kirana stores, e-commerce and quick commerce platforms is expected to further strengthen access to quality menstrual hygiene solutions across the country.
