Star Health expands home health care services to 100 locations, strengthens presence in Guwahati

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited (Star Health Insurance), India’s largest retail health insurer, has expanded its Home Health Care (HHC) services to 100 locations across the country, making it the largest provider of such services in India. The initiative, launched in July 2023, now covers over 85% of Star Health’s customer base, offering cashless, doorstep medical care within three hours.

According to Anand Roy, MD & CEO of Star Health Insurance, the program is designed to improve accessibility, availability, and affordability of healthcare. “At Star Health, we believe health insurance is a bridge to accessible and affordable healthcare. Our vision is to remove barriers such as high hospitalization costs and logistical challenges,” he said.

The service has been widely adopted in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune, benefiting over 15,000 patients with treatments for viral fever, dengue, acute gastroenteritis, and respiratory infections. Partnerships with leading healthcare providers, including Care24, Portea, and Apollo, have facilitated this expansion. In Guwahati, the initiative is expected to significantly enhance healthcare access, particularly for residents facing logistical challenges in reaching hospitals. The city’s growing demand for home-based medical services aligns with this expansion, ensuring timely care for patients while reducing hospitalization rates.
