Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee remotely inaugurated a new production facility of Star Cement at Mohitnagar in Jalpaiguri (West Bengal). Company’s flagship brand Star Cement is the largest and most trusted brand in North-East India. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee praised the commitment and contribution of Star Cement towards the overall socio-economic development of North-Bengal. She hoped that the brand-new cement plant which also has world-class machinery and the most advanced German technology deployed will set a new trend in the industrial sector of the region.
This new production facility of Star Cement set up with an investment of over Rs 450-Crore is touted by industry experts as the Largest Private Sector Investment in North Bengal. The plant has a production capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and is spread over an area of 45.08 acres of industrial land. The cement plant is expected to generate great employment opportunities for local people of the region. Star Cement Ltd.
