Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today held a meeting with the members of Chambers of Commerce of Jorhat district at the conference hall of Jorhat Circuit House and discussed with them several problems they faced in the post lockdown period of COVID-19 pandemic. During the meeting the Chambers raised several problems that afflicted them in the aftermath of the lockdown period.
Sonowal while giving a patience hearing to all their problems assured them that their problems would be addressed to pragmatically. Responding to a problem which the Mariani Chamber of Commerce has initiated with regard to operation of ASTC buses between Jorhat and Mariani town, Chief Minister Sonowal said that steps will be taken to increase the frequency of the buses to the satisfaction of the passengers. He also said that inspite of
COVID-19 pandemic the economic activities of the district should be continued and he advocated that the fight against COVID-19 must coexist with the economic activities. He also urged upon the Chambers of Commerce of the district to take the responsibility to generate mass awareness so that people adhere to safety protocols of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Minister Sonowal also thanked the Chambers of Commerce of the district for their help to the district administration during the lockdown of COVID-19 pandemic, which helped the administration to continue all emergency and essential services without much
interruption.
In the meeting the members of Jorhat Chambers of Commerce, Teok Chambers of Commerce, Mariani Chambers of Commerce and Titabar Chambers of Commerce and DC Jorhat Roshni Apranji Korati were present.
