Smuggler injured in firing by BSF on India-Bangladesh border

A person was injured in firing by BSF’s 62nd Battalion while smuggling cattle through the Kaljani River in Madhya Balabhut on the Indo-Bangladesh border. The incident took place early on Saturday morning in the Tufanganj-1 Block Madhya Balabhut area.
According to BSF sources, the name of the injured person is Saidul Islam, aged 45 years. The arrested trafficker is a resident of the Dhubri district of Assam. It is also reported that a total of three cows were recovered before the smuggling. BSF personnel brought the injured to the Tufanganj sub-district hospital. As his condition was critical, he was referred to Cooch Behar Medical College and Hospital.
