India’s Smriti Mandhana has strengthened her hold on a top-five spot in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings after a record-setting performance against Hong Kong at the Women’s Asia Cup.
Mandhana smashed 124 from 64 balls as India defeated Hong Kong by 137 runs to advance to the semi-finals. Her impressive innings also helped her achieve a significant milestone in women’s international cricket, as she moved past Mithali Raj to become the leading run-scorer across all formats.
The India opener now has 10,880 international runs to her name, overtaking Mithali’s total of 10,868. The century was also the 18th of Mandhana’s international career, giving her the most international centuries in women’s cricket.
Following her latest performance, Mandhana sits fifth in the T20I batting rankings.
Deepti Sharma has also benefited from her strong performances in the tournament. The India all-rounder has moved up two places to sixth in the T20I bowling rankings, while continuing to occupy fifth place among the leading all-rounders.
Meanwhile, UAE captain Esha Oza has climbed to 39th in the T20I batting rankings. She remains just outside the top 20 among all-rounders, maintaining her position as one of the standout players representing an Associate Member nation.
