SMFG India Credit has achieved a Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest Cattle Welfare Lesson (Multiple Venues)’ with 517 participants across six locations during the 7th Pashu Vikas Day (PVD). This event, which took place simultaneously in 500 sites across 16 states, benefitted approximately 190,000 individuals, including 150,000 cattle and 40,000 owners.
The theme, ‘Mera Pashu Mera Parivar,’ underscored the vital role of livestock in rural livelihoods, as around 65-70% of the rural population depends on agriculture. Over 6,000 employees participated, reflecting the company’s commitment to rural welfare.
CEO Mr. Shantanu Mitra praised the initiative and highlighted the company’s focus on financial inclusion in Tier-2 and Tier-2+ locations. COO Mr. Swaminathan Subramanian celebrated the record as a testament to their dedication to uplifting communities through innovative socio-economic initiatives.
