Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met Major General K.S. Dhatwal, SM, VSM, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 27 Mountain Division, at his official residence to discuss ongoing military and environmental initiatives in North Sikkim.
During the meeting, Major General Dhatwal provided a comprehensive update on the military’s activities in the region, focusing on critical infrastructure development along riversides to combat soil erosion. He highlighted efforts to identify vulnerable areas and coordinate with the Chief Secretary on river training projects.
Additionally, the Major General informed the Chief Minister about the regular monitoring of lakes in North Sikkim to track any fluctuations in water levels.
