Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang successfully concluded the three-day public outreach initiative, ‘Janta Bhet Karyakram,’ at Mamring Gaushala in Amba. The programme, aimed at fostering direct engagement between the government and the people, witnessed an overwhelming response from residents of the Rhenock constituency. Over the course of the event, CM Tamang personally met with approximately 1,200 individuals daily, resulting in benefits reaching around 4,000 people.The initiative, which began on February 23, was launched at Padamchey Secondary School, where the Chief Minister interacted with residents from various parts of the constituency. The following day, the event continued at the Rhenock Forest Bungalow before concluding at Mamring Gaushala on February 25. The programme provided a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and discuss key developmental issues directly with the Chief Minister and senior government officials.
During the programme, CM Tamang expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, including government officers, staff, volunteers, and party workers, whose dedication ensured the success of the event. He particularly acknowledged the enthusiastic participation of the people, emphasizing that their support and engagement were crucial in making the initiative meaningful and effective. “The Janta Bhet Karyakram with the people of Rhenock constituency has successfully concluded today at Mamring Gaushala. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished dignitaries, HODs, officers, staff, volunteers, and party workers whose dedication made this event a success. I also deeply appreciate the support of the people, without whom this would not have been possible,” CM Tamang said. He further reiterated his commitment to continuing similar engagements in other constituencies across the state, stressing the importance of direct interactions between the government and the people in addressing grievances and ensuring effective governance.
Throughout the three-day programme, key concerns raised by residents included issues related to road infrastructure, water supply, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. Government representatives from various departments were present at each venue to provide insights into welfare schemes, discuss ongoing projects and address public grievances on the spot. The outreach event saw participation from multiple areas, including Budang Kamarey GPU, East Pendam GPU, and various wards under Chalamthang Pacheykhani GPU. Residents of Taza GPU, Amba GPU, Naya Busty Ward, Pacheykhani Ward, Dikling Pacheykhani Ward and Chalamthang Ward actively engaged with the Chief Minister, raising concerns and seeking resolutions to their issues. In addition to discussions on infrastructure and public services, CM Tamang also extended financial aid to those in need, particularly the elderly, patients, and students facing difficulties. The programme reinforced the government’s commitment to delivering timely assistance and ensuring that public concerns are addressed effectively. Many attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to interact directly with the Chief Minister. They lauded the initiative for bringing governance closer to the people and facilitating transparent communication between citizens and policymakers.
