Signify partners with BVL to light up 20 community volleyball courts

Signify, a global lighting leader, has partnered with Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) to light up 20 community volleyball courts in rural districts of Assam, India. The project aims to promote volleyball growth and adoption among rural communities, founded by former Indian team captain Abhijit Bhattacharya.

Signify installed advanced lighting solutions to enable young players to practice under professional illumination levels for national-level volleyball. The project aims to empower over 5,000 athletes, fostering a passion for volleyball and promoting a healthier lifestyle in rural villages. In 2022, BVL experienced an unprecedented surge in participation, with over 350 rural village teams embracing the sport.

 Signify aimed to enhance sporting infrastructure by providing proper lighting to 20 grassroots centers under its Khel Jyoti CSR program. Abhijit Bhattacharya, the visionary behind BVL, expressed his gratitude for Signify’s unwavering commitment to promoting sports in rural areas. He stated, “By improving the infrastructure for volleyball in rural areas, we hope to witness the rise of future volleyball champions and the growth of this beloved sport across Assam.”
