Siemens Healthineers launches ‘Knowing is Comforting’ campaign to ease scan anxiety across India

Siemens Healthineers India has launched its nationwide ‘Knowing is Comforting’ campaign to address Scanxiety – the stress and fear experienced by patients before, during, and after medical imaging scans. The initiative aims to raise awareness about diagnostic procedures such as Mammography, MRI, CT, and PET CT, while highlighting advances in imaging technology that make scans more comfortable and patient-friendly.

The campaign features awareness videos in English and nine regional languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu. According to Hariharan Subramanian, Managing Director of Siemens Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., “Early and precise diagnosis leads to better outcomes and timely treatment. This campaign equips patients and caregivers with knowledge to approach scans confidently.”

Pranav Patil, Head of Communications-Zone India, added that the content aims to simplify complex imaging technology and reach diverse communities, emphasizing that modern diagnostic imaging is advanced yet patient-centric. The campaign spans digital, offline, and media platforms, with all video content available on the company’s website. In Guwahati, healthcare providers and diagnostic centers have welcomed the campaign, noting that awareness about Scanxiety is low despite the city’s growing demand for diagnostic imaging. Local hospitals report that patient anxiety often delays scan appointments, and initiatives like this could help enhance patient confidence, improve scan compliance, and streamline healthcare delivery across Assam.
