Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, honored 18 Indian candidates at the World Skills Competition 2022 Special Edition, recognizing their outstanding skills and talents. India secured 11th position with 2 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals, and 13 Medallions for Excellence. Winners and trainers received certificates and cash prizes.
Shri Pradhan announced the commencement of IndiaSkills 2023-24, the nation’s most anticipated National Skill Competition. Candidates can enroll on the Skill India Digital platform starting today. The event was graced by Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman of UGC, Prof. T. G Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, Ms. Trishaljit Sethi, Director General (Training), and Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship said, “I urge industry, academia, and policymakers to work together and make skill development a jan-andolan (people’s movement) for realizing the vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.”The winners shared inspiring stories of overcoming challenges, including the pandemic, to compete in foreign countries, showcasing determination and passion, inspiring others to compete at state and national levels.
