Shobana Kamineni Set to Lead Apollo Healthtech Ahead of Planned Listing

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has proposed the appointment of Shobana Kamineni as the Executive Chairperson of Apollo Healthtech, the company’s medical equipment and healthcare technology unit that is expected to be listed separately in the coming years. The appointment remains subject to shareholder approval.

The announcement marks another significant step in Apollo Hospitals’ ongoing restructuring plans. In 2024, the healthcare major revealed its intention to spin off and separately list its digital health and pharmacy businesses as part of a broader strategy to unlock value and strengthen operational focus.

Currently serving as a promoter director at Apollo Hospitals, Shobana Kamineni is expected to play a key role in guiding Apollo Healthtech through its next phase of growth and its proposed public listing. The company has also outlined governance measures for the new entity, stating that at least half of Apollo Healthtech’s board members will be independent directors. Investors and promoters will have nomination rights, subject to a proposed 10 percent shareholding threshold.

During its May earnings call, Apollo Hospitals indicated that the demerger and listing process could be completed by the latter part of fiscal year 2027, pending shareholder approvals. The company is targeting annualised revenue of approximately ₹250 billion at the time of listing.

Apollo Healthtech focuses on the manufacturing and supply of medical equipment and healthcare accessories, serving hospitals, care facilities, and healthcare providers. The move is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the growing healthcare technology and medical equipment sector.
