ShardaCare-Health city has expanded its healthcare outreach in Northeast India by launching specialised Outpatient Department (OPD) services in Dibrugarh in collaboration with Aziz Diagnostic & Hospital, a unit of HM Hospital & Diagnostic Center. The initiative is aimed at bringing advanced specialist care in Neurology, Nephrology and Medical Oncology closer to patients across Assam and neighbouring states, reducing dependence on metropolitan hospitals for consultations and treatment planning.
The OPD will be led by Dr. Atampreet Singh, Senior Director & Head, Neurosciences; Dr. Kunal Raj Gandhi, Director, Nephrology; and Dr. Anindya Mukherjee, Senior Consultant, Medical Oncology. Patients will receive specialist consultations, second opinions, follow-up care and referrals for advanced investigations, surgeries and multidisciplinary treatment at ShardaCare-Healthcity’s 600-bed super-speciality hospital in Greater Noida. Group CEO Dr. Kousar Shah said the collaboration reflects the institution’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare through regional partnerships and patient-centric care.
The expansion comes at a time when chronic kidney disease, neurological disorders and cancer are emerging as major health concerns across the Northeast. Experts noted that early diagnosis and timely specialist intervention can significantly improve patient outcomes, particularly for stroke, diabetes-related kidney disease and cancers prevalent in the region.
In Dibrugarh, the launch is expected to strengthen the city’s healthcare ecosystem by attracting patients from Upper Assam and neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh. The availability of visiting super-specialists is likely to boost demand for organised healthcare services, support diagnostic centres and reduce medical travel expenses, reinforcing Dibrugarh’s position as a growing regional healthcare hub.
