Seminar on digital connectivity building ratings organized by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India in Guwahati

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) hosted a seminar titled “Rating of Buildings for Digital Connectivity” in Guwahati, aimed at raising awareness about the “Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity Regulations” introduced on October 25, 2024. The seminar was inaugurated by KS Gopinath Narayan, Principal Secretary of the Department of IT in Assam, who emphasized the significance of the regulations in enhancing telecom connectivity within buildings. Key figures in attendance included PK Singh from TRAI, R Meshram from the Department of Telecommunications, and representatives from various stakeholders such as academia, telecom service providers, and consumer organizations.

The seminar’s discussions were structured into two sessions: the first addressed regulations surrounding Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR), including challenges in incorporating these into building bye-laws, while the second focused on perspectives from telecom service providers and infrastructure developers. Various speakers from TRAI, government bodies, and industry organizations delivered insights into the digital connectivity rating process. This event reflects TRAI’s commitment to fostering collaboration among government bodies, industry, and academia to align regulatory frameworks with technological advancements.
