Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purbottar, a registered socio-cultural and non-political organisation working for the noble cause of promoting safety, security, and overall development of the international border areas of our Motherland Bharat’s North Eastern region, is hosting the 1st Seemata Kreeda Mahotsav 22 in Guwahati in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Welfare of the Government of Assam. Hans Foundation, New Delhi, and Oil India are co-sponsoring the event.
This is the first sport event of its sort, with athletes competing within 15 kilometres of Assam’s international border/zero line. This endeavour is expected to promote unity and integrity, as well as resilience, leadership, accountability, respect, and competitiveness, among the people of the country’s international border territories in the north eastern region.
Dhuburi, South Salmara Mankachar, Chirang, Udalguri, Tamulpur, Baksa, Kokrajhar, Cahcar, and Karimganj were among the nine international border districts of Assam that staged district level qualifying rounds between March 4th and March 11th, 2022. From the 4th to the 6th of April 2022, the final competition will be place in Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
The game is Scheduled to be inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Assam Sri Himanta Biswa Sharma at 4.30 PM on 4th April 2022 in presence of Hon’ble minister of sports and youth welfare Sri Bimal Bora and Hon’ble CEM of Bodoland Territorial Council Sri Pramod Boro.
Apart from event wise medals the best performing district will be given a cash reward of Rs 1lakh. The closing ceremony will be held on 6th April 2022 at 5 PM in the presence of Seema Jagaran Mancha national convenor Sri A Gopalakrishnan ji and Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Assam Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary.
