SEEDS, a renowned humanitarian organization engaged in disaster response and management, has announced its partnership with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), an organization that helps mitigate the impact of disasters on marginalized and vulnerable groups and ensure equitable recovery. Through philanthropic counseling, educational resources and local disaster funds.
For over 28 years, SEEDS has been committed to strengthening disaster resilience by building the capacity of the most marginalized communities across many states in India; And its collaboration with CDP will aim to advance the shared objectives of both organizations, enabling a secure future for all.
Alex Gray, Director, CDP International Funds said, “I am delighted today to officially announce CDP’s partnership with CDP. The partnership will aim to provide a platform to restore and rebuild the lives of flood-affected communities in Assam’s Cachar district. Through our collective efforts, we plan to strengthen capacity and reduce risk in affected communities and ensure a more disaster-ready future for vulnerable populations so that no one is left behind.”
SEEDS will reach out to communities; assess damage to schools and rebuild them; Improve institutional capacity for disaster response and promote disaster and risk reduction (DRR) practices through training, planning and regular security exercises. In addition, SEEDS will provide communities with sustainable water filters that can be operated locally. This will reduce their dependence on outside help in emergencies as they will learn to manage the resources they need independently.
