Medhavi Skills University (MSU) held its second convocation ceremony in Gangtok, Sikkim, honoring graduates of its degree programs and showcasing the achievements and industry readiness of its students. The event, attended by notable dignitaries including Shri Sonam Tshering Venchungpa and Shri A. P. Subba, highlighted the university’s dedication to skill-based higher education and its alignment with industry needs.
A central feature of the ceremony was the conferral of honorary degrees (D.Litt. – Honoris Causa) to Major General Jai Singh Bainsla and Shri Raj Kumar Yadav for their exemplary service. Their acceptance speeches inspired graduates, focusing on discipline and skill-driven education as crucial for the nation’s progress.
MSU’s Chancellor, Shri Pravesh Dudani, emphasized the significance of skill-integrated education, stating that this convocation represented the emergence of a capable generation ready to make impactful contributions. He articulated the university’s mission: to offer graduates not just degrees, but confidence, dignity, and the skills necessary for employability. Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor Shri Kuldip Sarma encouraged students to pursue life with ambition and empathy, reminding them of their role in the larger vision of a developed India.
The Guest of Honour, Shri Venchungpa, acknowledged the limitations of traditional education without skill integration and praised MSU for equipping Sikkim’s youth with practical skills. The ceremony also recognized students with exemplary academic and technical achievements, offering medals to those who excelled in national skill competitions.
Additionally, the event included a Strategic MoU Exchange with key industry partners aimed at enhancing work-integrated learning and job readiness for students. Over 100 prominent companies participated in the recent placement cycle, resulting in more than 250 placement offers, exemplifying strong industry confidence in the graduates.
The graduating class signifies a shift towards skilled professionals equipped with industry-relevant education, reaffirming MSU’s role in advancing India’s skills ecosystem and fostering a future-ready workforce.
