SEBI chief launches multilingual comic series to boost investor awareness

The CDSL Investor Protection Fund (CDSL IPF), in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha, has launched a new investor education comic series aimed at simplifying financial concepts and strengthening awareness among investors. The series was unveiled by SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey at CDSL’s 3rd Annual Symposium, Reimagine: Securities Market through Data Synergy. Developed under the guidance of SEBI, the initiative translates complex financial topics into engaging story-based narratives designed to encourage informed participation in India’s capital markets. The comics will be available in both digital and print formats and distributed through investor protection programmes in 12 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, and Telugu, to ensure wider reach across urban and rural regions.

SEBI Chairman Pandey said investor awareness is essential for building transparent and inclusive securities markets, noting that initiatives such as “Slam the Scam” and “AtmanirbHER” have already strengthened public confidence. CDSL MD and CEO Nehal Vora added that storytelling can make investor education more relatable and trustworthy, helping individuals make informed financial decisions.

In Guwahati, the multilingual format, particularly the inclusion of Assamese, is expected to improve financial literacy among first-time investors in the region, potentially encouraging greater participation from smaller towns in the Northeast capital market ecosystem.
