Samsung Electronics and Corning have partnered to introduce Corning’s Corning® Gorilla® Armor cover material for Galaxy S24 Ultra devices, offering a combination of durability and visual clarity, enhancing display quality and protection against daily wear.
Corning® Gorilla® Armor is a different kind of smartphone cover material. Compared to a typical glass surface, Corning Gorilla Armor reduces reflection by up to 75%, which enhances display readability and minimizes screen reflections in almost any environment. David Velasquez, vice president and general manager, Corning® Gorilla® Glass, said, “This latest innovation simultaneously addresses both the need for durability and our increasing need for better optics – bringing the mobile phone experience of the future into the present.”
Corning’s Gorilla Armor cover material enhances Galaxy S24 Ultra’s durability, showing superior scratch resistance compared to aluminosilicate cover glasses. The “Scratch Bot” lab test replicated micro scratches from daily wear, demonstrating no visible scratches and over four times more scratch resistance than aluminosilicate cover glasses. Corning’s new cover material is designed to provide superior protection against wear and tear. The cover glass also contains 25% pre-consumer recycled content, as confirmed by UL Solutions in accordance with UL2809-2 Environmental Claim Validation Procedure for Recycled Content.
