As the globally popular series Stranger Things draws to a close, Samsung Electronics and Netflix have announced a special collaboration for fans across the world. From January 12, Samsung Galaxy users in 186 countries can download an exclusive “Stranger Things” theme and wallpapers from the Galaxy Store at no extra cost. The offer is available for a limited time to users who download or launch the Netflix app.
The special theme is inspired by Season 5 of the series and includes one custom theme and five wallpapers featuring well-known characters and settings such as Hawkins and the eerie Upside Down. The visuals are designed to reflect the dark and nostalgic mood of the show, allowing fans to personalise their smartphones with elements from the series.
“Stranger Things,” which premiered in 2016, has played a major role in Netflix’s global growth. After the release of Season 5 Part 1 in November 2025, the show topped charts in 91 countries and recorded 59.6 million views within five days. It also made history by placing all five seasons in Netflix’s Global Top 10 simultaneously.
Samsung and Netflix said the collaboration builds on their long-standing partnership aimed at celebrating popular storytelling through digital experiences.
In Kolkata, smartphone retailers and digital platforms have seen rising interest in themed content and customisation features, especially among young users. Industry observers say such global collaborations help boost engagement with premium devices and streaming apps, reflecting the city’s growing appetite for international entertainment trends.
