Samsung India announced the top 10 finalist teams for its Solve for Tomorrow 2024 CSR programme, advancing students from some of the nation’s most remote areas. Representing regions such as Golaghat in Assam, Udupi in Karnataka, and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, the 22 finalists will pitch their innovations before a jury of Samsung executives and industry leaders in the grand finale.
The programme, now in its third edition, aims to drive social change by encouraging young innovators to address real-world issues under the themes of Community and Inclusion and Environment and Sustainability. Finalists developed solutions ranging from arsenic pollution mitigation to VR-based learning tools. Each team received mentoring from Samsung and IIT Delhi’s Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), as well as grants to advance their prototypes.
In Golaghat, the locals views this initiative as a game-changer for fostering innovation in rural areas. Known for its agricultural economy, Golaghat now sees opportunities for tech-driven solutions that can address regional challenges, such as arsenic contamination in groundwater. Winners of Solve for Tomorrow 2024 will receive grants of up to ₹50 lakh for further development, reaffirming Samsung’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and driving social impact through innovation.
